Nude is not lewd
Today I drove nude for about 75 miles over about an hour and a half. It was warm out and I had the dash vents blowing on my body. The cool air caused ripples in my body hair. It was delightful. I marveled at how comfortable I was.
When I got close to home I reluctantly decided I needed to get dressed so as not to startle the person in the fast food drive through window. In the summer I usually wear only a pair of shorts and a short-sleeved shirt that I don’t tuck in. After being so long without clothes I was very conscious about how restricted I felt. The waist of my shorts felt too tight. The shorts kind of pulled the skin of my rear as I was sitting and was uncomfortable compared to being nude. Although the shirt fit, I felt constricted around the armholes into the sleeves.
Like the frog in a pan of water that doesn’t notice the gradual change in temperature as the pan is heated until it’s too late, I think about these discomforts in the morning when I get up (I sleep nude.) but they just fade into the background as the morning progresses. The sudden change this afternoon between comfort and clothes made me a bit angry that I was required by society to cover up.
What’s wrong with my body that it needs to be covered? It’s no secret that men have a penis and women have breasts so why do they need to be covered up on a warm day where clothing’s not needed to keep warm. Why should I be denied the joy of skinny-dipping at the local county park on a warm day? I say that if a nude body bothers someone they don’t have to look. Nude is not lewd.
